The story
The supernatural phenomenon begins again with a fresh crop of inspiring heroes who take on the ultimate struggle between those with extraordinary abilities and those with nefarious motives to hunt and harness their powers. Epic adventures await these newly empowered allies as they cross paths with some of the original characters, unlocking the mysterious fate of the universe and their place within it.
What it’s like
Glossy, saturated network-drama polish: bright daylight in sleek offices and sunny suburban streets, clean digital cinematography, and a sweeping orchestral-leaning score that swells whenever a power flares. Some sequences lean into comic-book colour, with bursts of electric blue and gold around ability effects, while quieter scenes sit in flat, even lighting that feels more like a 2015 studio set than a lived-in world. The rhythm is brisk and episodic, with cliffhanger cuts and regular reveals that keep the story moving across a season. The tone is earnest and upbeat, a little melodramatic, with an optimistic core about ordinary people discovering they can matter. Violence is present but moderate: fights with powers and occasional shootings, some peril and villainous menace, with little gore and no sexual content. It suits a weekend binge or a light background watch for fans of superhero ensembles who enjoy big-hearted, slightly campy spectacle.
