The story
Ten years after an apocalyptic event left the world haunted by ghosts, Veronica 'Ronnie' Calder receives a threatening message from beyond the grave. Joining forces with a mysterious classmate, Kirk, Ronnie descends into a shadow world that blurs the bounds of the living and the dead—and begins a desperate race against time to stop a cunning killer.
What it’s like
Glossy, cool-toned teen thriller with a washed-out, desaturated look for the haunted parts of the world: grey-blue daylight, empty suburban streets, and pale, drifting ghosts lingering in ordinary rooms. Night scenes lean on sodium streetlight, flickering bulbs and deep shadow, with a synth-tinged score that pulses under tense moments and gives way to quiet piano during the romance. Handheld energy builds during chase and search sequences, then settles into slower, moodier framing. The vibe is melancholy and eerie, with a restless, mystery-driven edge. The story follows a grieving teenager and a guarded classmate, and their gradually deepening bond shapes the emotional core. Expect murder, death and sustained peril: some violence and bloodless but unsettling ghost imagery, with jump scares more than gore, and a steady sense of dread. Best for a late-night watch when you want atmosphere and suspense, or for fans of ghostly, romance-tinged teen mysteries who don't mind a grim undertone.
