The story

India's Got Latent is an Indian Hindi comedy talent show hosted by Samay Raina on YouTube. Inspired by the international Got Talent franchise and Kill Tony, it features a wide variety of acts including singing, dancing, magic, and comedy.

What it’s like

Bright, cheerful studio light with a loud, unpolished look: a stage set up like a casual talent-show room, with a host and guest panel framed in medium shots and quick cuts between performers, the feel of a YouTube production built to be watched on a phone or laptop. The sound is busy and conversational, with audience laughter, crowd murmurs and the bounce of live banter punctuating each act, and there is little score beyond stings and the occasional musical turn. Its vibe is chatty, playful and irreverent, the kind of thing to put on while cooking, commuting or killing an hour when you want something lively rather than immersive. Pacing is brisk and episodic, jumping from one performer to the next, with the energy rising and falling according to how each act lands. Tone stays light and cheeky, though the comedy can turn sharp and provocative, and the host's jokes sometimes courts controversy around taboo subjects. Intensity is mild in terms of violence, gore and fear, with no real menace, but the sexual innuendo and edgy crowd work can be frank. It suits viewers who enjoy stand-up, talent-show variety and irreverent Hindi-language humour.
