The story

In the cutthroat world of international finance, a group of young graduates compete for a limited set of permanent positions at a top investment bank in London. The boundaries between colleague, friend, lover, and enemy soon blur as they immerse themselves in a company culture defined as much by sex, drugs and ego as it is by deals and dividends.

What it’s like

Restless handheld camera work and glassy London office interiors: harsh fluorescent light over open-plan trading floors, then sudden bursts of club neon, rain-slick streets at night, and the cold blue wash of phone screens lighting faces at 3 a.m. The palette runs from sterile grey and steel to flushed reds and sweaty amber once the party crowd takes over. The sound is a driving electronic pulse and pop-inflected needle drops, cut against the clatter of keyboards and tense phone calls, with silence used sharply at moments of humiliation. Its vibe is glossy and anxious, a feverish mix of ambition and nightlife. It suits late-night binge viewing when you want energy and sharp, quick-cut tension. The pacing is fast and episodic, and the emotional register swings between dark comedy and raw unease. Arcs follow young strivers whose friendships and romances keep tangling with their careers. Intensity is high: frequent strong language, graphic sex and nudity, heavy drug use, and sudden cruelty and emotional violence, with occasional physical danger. Not gentle. For viewers who like unflinching, stylish drama about ambition and moral compromise.
