The story

Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, covert operations expert Zora Bennett is contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from the world's three most massive dinosaurs. When Zora's operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that's been hidden from the world for decades.

What it’s like

Wide tropical daylight and saturated greens dominate, with humid haze over the water and sun-bleached sand, and Gareth Edwards frames his dinosaurs at real scale: slow reveals from behind foliage, long establishing shots of a creature filling the whole widescreen, then tighter handheld moments when the team is pinned down. Score is big orchestral swell with pounding percussion, cutting to tense quiet in the jungle where only insects and breathing register. The vibe is adventurous and brisk, a summer blockbuster with pulse. Action sequences are frequent and loud, with creature chases, a few brutal deaths and some bloody wounds, though it stays mostly PG-13 in tone and gore is limited. Fear comes from proximity and suspense more than carnage. Pacing is propulsive, with the story shifting into a family-survival thread that softens the edge as strangers learn to trust each other. It suits a weekend afternoon or a big-screen night for people who want spectacle, creature scale and a crowd-pleasing dose of tension without hard horror.
