The story

Returning home to visit their ill grandfather, two estranged brothers must confront their unresolved rivalry while their parents’ marriage frays.

What it’s like

Warm, lived-in domestic light fills the sprawling Kapoor house in a hill-station town: sunlit verandas, cluttered living rooms, the glow of family dinners, with an easy handheld intimacy that lets awkward silences breathe. The palette leans toward golden ochres, faded blues and soft greens, and the camera often stays close on faces across a table as tempers and jokes shift. The score is light and melodic, with acoustic guitar and Bollywood-style songs that break into the quieter scenes, so the mood swings between teasing comedy and sudden tenderness. Pacing is unhurried and conversational, more interested in small domestic friction than in big events. Its emotional register is wry, bittersweet and affectionate, with a lonely undercurrent: a family where everyone is performing contentment, and a couple of characters slowly risking honesty about who they are and what they want. Intensity is low: some raised voices, an illness felt in the background, and a few frank conversations about sexuality, with no violence and no graphic content. It suits a relaxed weekend afternoon or a comfort watch with someone you love, and it is for viewers who enjoy ensemble family dramas with humour, romance and an honest, gentle look at estrangement.
