The story

Karan and Arjun reincarnate in the different parts of the country. But the faith of their previous mother brings them together in order to avenge their death.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated studio colour and broad, theatrical framing dominate this 1995 Hindi action melodrama, with rural village sunlight giving way to dim, smoky interiors and night-time confrontations lit in hard, dramatic contrast. The camera moves with energy: sweeping crane shots, fast cuts through action sequences, and big, stagey close-ups that hold on faces during emotional beats. Music carries much of the feeling, with lush romantic songs and bold dhol-driven numbers punctuating the story, while the dialogue delivers oversized, declamatory emotion. The vibe is loud, earnest and operatic, part crowd-pleaser and part revenge fable, with a rhythm that alternates between festive song sequences and tense, violent confrontations. Violence is frequent and stylised, with fight scenes and gunfire that are dramatic rather than graphic, and the emotional register swings between romance, grief and fierce vengeance. Good for viewers who want a big, sentimental Bollywood spectacle for a weekend evening, or anyone drawn to reincarnation stories full of bravado, music and mother-driven devotion.
