The story
When an elite assassin marries a beautiful computer whiz after a whirlwind romance, he gives up the gun and settles down with his new bride. That is, until he learns that someone from his past has put a contract out on his life.
What it’s like
Bright, glossy studio cinematography with sun-washed suburban exteriors, pastel kitchens, and the saturated sheen of mid-2000s digital, the frame usually tidy and evenly lit even when the bullets start flying. Chase sequences run on handheld energy and quick cuts through Los Angeles streets, pool decks, and hillside mansions, while calmer scenes sit in bright, open rooms with easy two-shot framing. The score is upbeat pop and rock-tinged action music that keeps the tempo bouncy, and gunfire is staged with a playful snap rather than grim weight. Violence is present throughout, with shootouts, car chases, and several killings, though it stays mostly bloodless and cartoonish, with brief moments of stylized threat. Romantic comedy beats and sexual innuendo appear regularly, lightly handled. The vibe is breezy, cheeky, and warm: a light caper for a Saturday afternoon or a looser evening with friends, suited to viewers who want action with a laugh and a romance that doesn't ask much of them.
