The story

A slacker and a career-driven woman accidentally conceive a child after a one-night stand. As they try to make the relationship work, they must navigate the challenges of parenthood and their differences in lifestyle and maturity.

What it’s like

Loose, warmly lit handheld comedy with the look of a hangout movie: bright suburban bedrooms, cluttered apartments, sunny Los Angeles afternoons, and plenty of ordinary domestic framing that lets the actors riff in long, unhurried takes. The palette is natural and slightly washed, the camera stays close and jittery during conversations, and the score is light and sparse, so the soundtrack mostly leaves room for overlapping dialogue and rambling banter. Vibe: easygoing, scruffy, sweet underneath, the kind of comedy that suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a friend-group rewatch, or half-attention while folding laundry. Pacing is loose and talky, with scenes that wander before landing on a laugh and a slow, earnest arc about two very different people learning to share responsibility and grow up a little. The register swings between crude and tender. Intensity: plenty of frank sexual talk and nudity-adjacent jokes, bawdy humor, drinking and drug use, and a frank birth sequence; no violence and nothing dark. Best for people who want raunchy but affectionate comedy with a romantic heart, and grown-up hangout energy.
