The story

A mother-in-law's struggle to put up with her three bahu's. The three bahu's have grown up sons. The bahu's sons start to get involved with having girlfriends and the bahu's try and break their relationships up.

What it’s like

Saturated jewel-toned silks, brass lamps and heavy carved wood fill a sprawling joint-family home, lit by warm bulbs that make every room feel close and slightly overheated. The camera leans on tight two-shots, slow push-ins and sudden zooms onto a wide-eyed reaction, while a sitar-and-synth theme swells and dramatic stings punctuate each cliffhanger. The rhythm is unhurried and serialized, with scenes lingering on a glance, a whispered plan or a sharply delivered insult, and episodes often closing on a reveal. The vibe is glossy, operatic melodrama, a comfort watch for an evening on the sofa, a long ironing session or half-attention while cooking. Emotional register runs high and theatrical, full of grudges, schemes and tearful confrontations, and its arcs follow a matriarch's wary endurance as rivalries shift across the years. Intensity is moderate: sharp verbal cruelty, sneaky sabotage, shouting and the occasional scuffle, with no gore and nothing sexual. Best for viewers who love long-running family soaps and want big feelings, familiar archetypes and a warm, heightened world without real menace.
