The story
Two intergalactic cops, new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, are drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
What it’s like
Built around a murder investigation in a small Nebraska town, this is a mystery-driven sci-fi drama with a buddy-cop pairing at its center: a seasoned, storied hero paired with a rookie who is still learning the job. The setting is the American heartland, with its open landscape and ordinary streets, and the tone leans on small-town texture, a parent-child thread, and the grounded, procedural rhythm of an investigation, with cosmic stakes sitting underneath. Its people are an ex-Marine finding his footing and an established cop whose legend has become a burden, so the arcs turn on trust, reluctance, and sharing the weight of a case. Expect the violence that comes with a murder case, handled as investigation rather than spectacle, though its exact intensity is not something this description can vouch for. It suits viewers who want a mystery that moves at the pace of a patient detective story, with a superhero premise giving it a larger frame, and who are drawn to partnership dynamics and character-led drama more than to pure action.
