The story

The young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace—eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare.

What it’s like

Desert heat and the blank geometry of a pyramid frame this story, with the sense of sand-scoured emptiness and a tightly held family drama at its center. The mood is unease from the first scene, the kind that builds through a reporter's methodical digging into what happened in the sand. Expect a slow, investigative rhythm that tightens into possession-style horror, where the dread comes from a familiar home turning strange. This is not a gentle watch: the register is eerie and uncanny, with ritual and supernatural menace pressing on the family's fragile reunion, and the level of gore is not something this description can vouch for. It suits a late-night viewing with the lights low, for viewers who like mysteries that slide into the occult and who want a horror film built on ritual, grief, and the wrongness of a returned child rather than on jump-scare spectacle.
