The story

A small group of survivors are left behind after millions of people suddenly vanish during the rapture and the world is plunged into chaos and destruction.

What it’s like

Flat, overcast daylight and drab interiors give way to smeared grey skies and sodden, ordinary streets, with a handheld, jittery camera that keeps the frame anxious. The score leans on swelling synth-strings and thudding percussion, and the airport and aircraft scenes are cramped, dim and claustrophobic. The mood is bleak and frantic, a disaster-movie unease with little warmth in it, and it suits a loud, distracted evening where the spectacle matters more than the feeling. The pace is brisk and relentless, with arcs built around a reluctant flier-turned-protector and a frightened passenger slowly finding nerve. Violence is present throughout: crashes, fires, vehicles tearing into crowds and some grim peril, all shown with real impact but without graphic gore, so the dread is more kinetic than visceral. Sexual content is absent and the language is mild. This is for viewers who like airplane-set disaster thrillers and don't need subtlety, and it's a poor fit for anyone seeking something gentle or quiet.
