The story

A 17 year old finds out that his girlfriend is dying, so he sets out to give her an entire life, in the last year she has left.

What it’s like

Bright, sun-warmed daylight and open rooms give this teen romance a glossy, easy surface, with much of the time spent in cars, cafés and sunlit streets where the mood stays cheerful even as it drifts toward sorrow. The score is soft and melodic, the camera tends to stay close on faces during quiet exchanges, and the pace is unhurried, letting small moments breathe. The feeling is bittersweet and tender, a good fit for a rainy afternoon or a late evening on the sofa. Its emotional core is a seventeen-year-old's devotion to a partner facing a terminal illness, a young man growing up fast as the couple makes the most of borrowed time. Illness and death are present and sad, but there is no violence, no gore, and little that is frightening, and romantic intimacy stays light. It suits viewers who want a heartfelt, teary romance with bright visuals and gentle grief, especially fans of youthful, big-hearted love stories.
