The story

Despite a traumatic event, a group of friends decide to go ahead with their annual beach vacation. Their relationships, convictions, sense of guilt and friendship are sorely tested. They are finally forced to own up to the little white lies they've been telling each other.

What it’s like

Warm, sun-bleached summer light falls across long Atlantic-coast days, with handheld camera work that stays close to faces during tense dinner tables and loosens into lazy wide shots of dunes, boats and a rented house full of clutter. The palette leans on washed-out blues, sandy beiges and the honeyed glow of late evenings, and the sound is mostly ambient: waves, clinking glasses, a bright pop-tinged soundtrack that jolts against the mounting unease. The vibe is breezy but brittle, a sunny melancholy where small comforts curdle into resentment. It suits a lazy weekend afternoon or a late-evening watch with a glass of wine, though its emotional bruises linger after the credits. Pacing is conversational and unhurried, built from ensemble scenes, with arcs that trace a group of thirty-somethings slowly confronting the gap between how they present themselves and how they really feel about one another. Intensity is moderate: arguments are sharp, drunkenness and a few harsh words land hard, and there is one sudden, upsetting incident handled with restraint rather than gore. Sexual content is brief and non-explicit. Made for viewers who enjoy ensemble character drama with a bittersweet, grown-up edge.
