The story

A spirited young bride-to-be living with her single mother on a small Greek island secretly invites three of her mother's ex-boyfriends in hope of finding her biological father to walk her down the aisle.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated Aegean sunlight poured over whitewashed villages, turquoise water and sun-baked terraces, with the camera racing through open-air sets in big, buoyant wides and close-ups that catch every grin and sweat-bead. The palette is candy-bright: sunflower yellow, sea blue, hot pink bougainvillea, and bold 70s-style costumes that look like they were pulled from a summer holiday scrapbook. Sound is the star: Abba songs belted out in full-throated, often ridiculous set pieces, with clapping crowds, splashing swims and dancing on cliffs, the whole thing as loose and warm as a sing-along at a seaside taverna. Vibe: sunny, silly, and sentimental, a feel-good escape for a lazy afternoon, a group watch with friends, or a comfort rewatch when you want to be cheerful. Pacing is brisk and buoyant, with the emotional beats (mother-daughter bonds, three men reckoning with a past they half-forgot) softened into warm, teasing comedy and tender moments of reconciliation. Intensity is very gentle: some mild innuendo and romance, slapstick tumbles, no violence, no real fear or cruelty. Made for people who want joyful, romantic, music-led comfort and don't mind a cheerfully corny plot.
