The story

Danny Rand resurfaces 15 years after being presumed dead. Now, with the power of the Iron Fist, he seeks to reclaim his past and fulfill his destiny.

What it’s like

Cool, overcast New York in muted blues and greys, with the Rand corporate towers and Chinatown's crowded street life framed in mostly static, carefully lit interiors, while flashbacks to the mountain city of K'un-Lun glow in warm gold and saturated greens. The score leans on synth pulses and taiko-style percussion, and the fight choreography is clean and often shot in long, unbroken takes. The overall vibe is brooding and earnest, a slightly sombre superhero drama that moves unevenly, spending long stretches on boardroom manoeuvring and family tension before erupting into brief, sharp martial arts set pieces. Intensity is moderate: regular fist-to-body fighting with some blood and bruising, occasional stabbings and gunfire, a few tense confrontations, mild swearing, and some adult themes but no sexual content on screen. It suits a weekend binge on a grey afternoon, or a fan of MCU street-level action who likes martial arts and a long-arc mystery about inheritance and identity.
