The story

Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.

What it’s like

Dark, rain-slicked New York rendered in cool blues, sodium-orange streetlight and the hard white glare of office fluorescents, with a camera that lingers on rooms and faces rather than cutting fast. Fight scenes are staged in long, mostly unbroken takes, brutal and close, with heavy thuds and splintering wood carrying the sound design, while quieter stretches rely on a restrained, low-key score and the ambient hum of city streets and courtrooms. The mood is gritty and sober, somewhere between cold noir and earnest procedural, with a steady undercurrent of dread and moral weight. Pacing is deliberate, building through legal manoeuvres, political back-room tension and slow-burning character work toward eruptions of violence. Expect graphic, bruising fight choreography, frequent beatings and blood, menace and threatening crime-world cruelty, though the gore is grounded rather than gratuitous. It suits a late evening alone or a weekend binge for viewers who like their superhero drama serious, adult and morally tangled, with a strong sense of place and a lawyer's stubbornness at its heart.
