The story
In this compilation that bundles all three landmark Metroid Prime games, experience the danger and high-intense action of facing space alone as you play skilled bounty hunter, Samus Aran. In Metroid Prime, explore the world of Tallon IV and witness the deadly experiments performed by the remaining Space Pirates. In Metroid Prime 2, investigate the hostile activities between twin planets Aether and Dark Aether, and learn of their shared energy source that is vital to their survival. In Metroid Prime 3, discover the dangers of a sentient virus that has almost obliterated the Galactic Federation's network, and face the darkness within...
What it’s like
Cool blue and sickly green light pools across dim alien caverns and sterile metal corridors, with the HUD's visor overlay painting every scan in crisp amber and violet. The camera sits behind and above the bounty hunter's shoulder in first person, so each room is seen through the helmet's glass: rain-slick rock, bioluminescent fungus, scorched labs, and the wide, eerie vistas of twin worlds split between sunlit forest and bruised, ashen darkness. Ambient drones, distant machinery hum and sudden orchestral swells mark the shifts between quiet exploration and firefights. The pace is deliberate, with long stretches of scanning, backtracking and puzzle-solving broken by tense, precise combat against grotesque creatures and robots. Intensity runs moderate: frequent sci-fi shootouts and creature violence, some eerie dread and the threat of death, but no gore beyond stylized alien splatter and no sexual content. Best for players who enjoy atmospheric, methodical exploration in an unsettling sci-fi setting, and for late-night sessions with headphones on.
