The story
Meet the Smiths: two lonely strangers, John and Jane, who have given up their lives and identities to be thrown together as partners – both in espionage and in marriage.
What it’s like
Bright, glossy daylight and sun-warmed interiors, with the sleek, saturated polish of a streaming spy caper: crisp suits, pastel hotel rooms, and fast cuts on a tight rhythm. The camera leans into stylish action and quick, wry close-ups of two people sizing each other up. Sound is driven by upbeat, jazzy and synth-tinged music, punctuated by gunfire, car chases and punchy comic beats. The vibe is playful and brisk, with an undercurrent of loneliness that softens into warmth as its two leads slowly let their guards down. It suits a lazy weekend binge, a light evening with friends, or a bit of escapism on a long flight. Expect regular action violence, with shootouts and fight scenes that are stylised but not gory, plus some profanity and frank sexual content. Comedy and romance sit comfortably alongside the tension. It is for viewers who enjoy witty banter, glamorous set pieces and a playful take on the spy genre, rather than anything gentle or quiet.
