The story
During his glory days, Berlin and a gang assembled in Paris for one of his greatest plans ever: stealing 44 million euros' worth of jewels in one night.
What it’s like
Warm, sun-bleached Mediterranean light and glossy, saturated Parisian interiors give this prequel a slick, stylised look, with bright neon and sharp tailoring against shadowy streets at night. The camera moves with restless energy: quick cuts, roving handheld shots, and punchy montages set to pop and dance-leaning tracks that keep the pulse high. The vibe is stylish, mischievous and swaggering, a little glamorous and self-aware, best for a late-night binge or a fun, energetic weekend watch. Pacing is brisk and episodic, built around planning, rivalries and reversals rather than quiet reflection, and the tone runs playful with flashes of tension. Its criminal characters are charismatic and morally slippery, and the arcs centre on loyalty, ego and the thrill of the job. Violence is present and sometimes sudden, including shootings and threats, but it is not graphic in a gory way; there is some sexual content and frequent strong language. It suits viewers who enjoy heist-style capers, charming antiheroes and bold, glossy visuals.
