The story
Ryōko Ōkami is a spunky high school girl who is a member of a "fixer" club called the Otogi High School Bank. She fixes the school's problems with her partner Ringo Akai ("Akazukin-chan").
What it’s like
Bright, saturated school-day colours and brisk, punchy cutting make this a bouncy animated comedy that can jump from hallway chatter to a flurry of martial-arts action in a single beat. The mood is irreverent and sunny, suited to a weekday after-school watch, background viewing while tidying up, or a light evening with friends. Humour leans on parody and fairy-tale mythology, with an amnesia-driven mystery running quietly under the gags, so the tone shifts between goofy romcom beats and brief moments of uncertainty. Action is cartoon-stylised: quick kicks, flips and exaggerated fights played for slapstick rather than gore, and any danger reads as playful. Romance stays at the level of teasing and awkward crushes. The rhythm is episodic, with each school "job" wrapping up in a cheerful arc while the friendship between the two leads deepens, a self-assured girl slowly opening up about her past. It suits viewers who want energetic, lighthearted anime with martial-arts flair, parody and a gentle coming-of-age undertow, without grim stakes or heavy violence.
