The story

A preacher sets out on a mission to make the almighty himself confess his sin of abandoning the world. With his best friend Cassidy, an alcoholic Irish vampire, his love Tulip, a red blooded gun towing Texan, and the power of genesis, an unholy child born from an angel and a devil, Jesse gives up everything to set the world straight with its creator.

What it’s like

Dusty, sun-scorched Texas towns under a flat, bleached sky, with dim bars, dingy motel rooms and sweaty backroads lit by harsh midday sun and the occasional sodium glow of night. The show leans into saturated, pulpy color when a supernatural event breaks loose: blood reds, church-window glow, and a grubby, comic-book energy in its framing and quick cuts. The score is a rough mix of twangy Americana, distorted guitar and swaggering rock, with sudden bursts of silence when something unnatural happens. Its vibe is irreverent and profane, blending road-trip buddy comedy with gritty supernatural horror and a thread of genuine spiritual unease. The pacing is brisk and episodic, with long bursts of irreverent banter giving way to bloody set pieces. The emotional register swings between crude humor and earnest soul-searching, following a wounded, guilt-ridden man slowly reckoning with faith and the people who stand by him. Intensity is high: frequent graphic violence and gore, strong profanity, sexual content and nudity, and grim, disturbing imagery, so it is not suited to anyone seeking something gentle. It is for viewers who enjoy dark, irreverent genre television with a sincere heart and a taste for bloody, pulpy style.
