The story

Experience the wonders of our world like never before in this epic series from Jon Favreau and the producers of Planet Earth. Travel back 66 million years to when majestic dinosaurs and extraordinary creatures roamed the lands, seas, and skies.

What it’s like

Lush, painstakingly rendered CGI landscapes in the warm, saturated light of a continuous golden hour, with sweeping drone-style aerials over steaming river deltas, misty conifer forests and sun-cracked badlands. The camera lingers in long, unhurried takes on creatures moving through their daily routines, grazing, nesting, hunting at dusk, and the palette runs from deep greens and ochre to glassy blue seas. Sound is a full nature-documentary mix: rolling orchestral swells, soft wind and surf, and the occasional low, earthy rumble of a large animal. The mood is awed and wonder-struck, a calm curiosity rather than suspense, with the rhythm of a patient David Attenborough-style narration (here delivered by Tom Hiddleston) that fills quiet stretches with facts and gentle reverence. Violence exists in the natural world of predators and prey, but it is brief, mostly off-screen or quickly resolved, and never gory. It suits a slow weekend afternoon, a background watch with kids, or a long evening of cosy curiosity, and it is for viewers who love natural history, dinosaurs, and the feeling of standing at a vast, ancient landscape.
