The story

When nerdy high schooler Dani finally attracts the interest of her longtime crush, she lands in the cross hairs of his ex, a social media celebrity.

What it’s like

Bright, flat phone-screen light spills across bedrooms and hallways, with split-screen inserts, chat bubbles and swiped-through selfies cutting into the frame in a glossy, saturated digital palette of pinks, teals and hot whites. The camera stays mostly close and mobile, catching the restless energy of teenagers who are always half-watching their screens, while the school corridors look sunny and overlit. The score is bouncy pop with quick comic stings, and the rhythm is snappy, with jokes landing fast and the cutting never letting a scene sit still for long. Its vibe is bright, chaotic and self-aware, a comedy about how cringe and sincere teen feelings are magnified by an online audience. Intensity is low: some teen embarrassment, mild bullying and rivalry, a little profanity and suggestive talk, but no real violence or gore. It suits a light weekend watch or a playful night in, and it is for viewers who enjoy sharp, mildly satirical teen comedy about crushes, group chats and reputation.
