The story

Although already in relationships, two strangers realize they have genuine chemistry after a chance encounter – but part company soon after. Years later, they each yearn to reunite, despite being destined for the altar. But to give true love a chance, they have to find one another again.

What it’s like

Warm winter light and bright holiday street scenes, with New York in December rendered as glossy, snow-dusted and romantic: department store windows, twinkling Christmas lights, steam rising from street vents, a crisp palette of cream, camel and deep red. The camera lingers on faces in soft two-shots and lets the city hum around its leads, while a lilting, string-heavy score and Christmas-carol textures keep the mood buoyant. Its vibe is wistful and bubbly, a light fairy-tale romance with a flirt of cosmic whimsy and gentle comic awkwardness. It suits a snowy weekend, a comfort rewatch in the run-up to the holidays, or an easy evening on the sofa with a mug of something hot. The pace is unhurried and conversational, with the leads' arcs moving from fleeting spark toward a deliberate, hopeful search. Intensity is very low: romantic tension and light mishaps, no violence, no gore, and only mild sensuality. Made for people who want a sweet, cheerful love story with a touch of magic and a happy ending.
