The story
Jagjinder Joginder, a wedding planner, brings together the dysfunctional family of businessman Bipin Arora while making arrangements for Bipin's daughter's destination wedding in London.
What it’s like
Saturated, sun-warm colour does most of the work here: marigold yellows, hot pinks and royal blues in silk and tented marquees, with fairy lights and chandeliers glowing against dusk-lit London. The camera moves with the bustle, sweeping across crowded family rooms and wedding preparations, and the cutting is brisk and playful. The score runs on brass, dhol drums and bright pop-bhangra, with big ensemble dance numbers that burst out of ordinary scenes. The mood is buoyant and affectionate, a lively, chaotic comedy whose romance moves at a teasing pace and whose people gradually loosen up and open to each other. Intensity is mild: some slapstick and broad family farce, a few kisses and romantic flirtation, no real violence, gore or sexual content, and nothing frightening. It suits a Saturday afternoon, a group watch, or a cheerful comfort rewatch, and it is for viewers who want an exuberant, feel-good Bollywood comedy with music and colour to spare.
