The story

Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.

What it’s like

Warm, sun-bleached Mississippi Delta light gives way to smoky juke-joint nights lit by amber bulbs and flickering neon, and the camera moves with a restless, circling energy that makes every room feel close and humid. The palette is honeyed and dusty, with deep blacks and sudden bursts of colour when the music takes hold, and the film's most striking passages stretch out in long, fluid takes that let the sound do the work. Sound is central: blues and folk guitar, a voice rising over a crowd, and a score that swells into something hypnotic and otherworldly. The mood is brooding, feverish and mythic, a cocktail of nostalgia, dread and celebration, with the pace building steadily toward brutal bursts of violence and horror. Expect bloody, graphic scenes, supernatural menace, and some sexual content and cruelty. The film is for viewers who want atmosphere and music-driven spectacle, and who can handle horror with heavy emotional weight.
