The story

When the FBI hires her to go undercover at a college sorority, Molly Morris must transform herself from a tough, streetwise private investigator to a refined, sophisticated university girl to help protect the daughter of a one-time Mobster. With several suspects on her list, Molly unexpectedly discovers that not everyone is who they appear to be, including herself.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated studio comedy with the glossy, evenly lit look of a 2012 mainstream release: sunny campus lawns, pastel sorority-house interiors, bedrooms washed in clean daylight, and fast cutting between makeover montages and small caper beats. The score is peppy and synth-tinged, with pop needle-drops that keep the energy bouncing, and the camera stays mostly conventional and mobile, favoring reaction shots and broad physical gags over any sustained stillness. The vibe is breezy, silly and light, a fizzy comfort watch for a lazy afternoon, a long-haul flight, or background while folding laundry. Pacing is brisk and the emotional register stays sunny: a tough, wisecracking investigator loosens up among a group of preppy women, and the story's arc is about a woman learning that polish and grit can sit side by side. Intensity is low: some mild peril and scuffles, brief threatening moments, mostly innuendo and crude-but-harmless humor, no gore and little real menace. It suits viewers who want an easy, good-natured romp with plenty of quips and no heavy stakes.
