The story
After the Clone Wars, Maul plots to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire.
What it’s like
Grim and aggressive, with the sharp edges of a criminal-underworld story, this animated Star Wars series follows Darth Maul as he sets about rebuilding a syndicate after the Clone Wars, on a world the Empire has not reached. Its mood is menacing and purposeful, built around a villain's ambition rather than heroic optimism, and its emotional center is the master and apprentice bond that runs through Maul's history. Sam Witwer, who has voiced the character across earlier Star Wars animation, anchors that continuity. The pacing suits viewers who want tension and power struggles over lightness, and the intensity is that of a crime drama in animated form: confrontational and dark, with danger and cruelty as steady undercurrents. It is best for fans of Maul and Star Wars villainy, and for anyone who wants a colder, more predatory side of the franchise rather than comfort or gentle adventure.
