The story

Stellar Blade is a third-person action-adventure game set on a post-apocalyptic Earth. Players control Eve, an elite soldier deployed from an orbital colony to reclaim the planet from hostile creatures called Naytibas. The combat system emphasizes timing-based parrying and evasion, with skill gauges that unlock powerful attacks and buffs. The game features exploration across ruined environments, side quests from NPC survivors in the last human city of Xion, and a narrative with multiple endings based on player choices.

What it’s like

Bright, bleached daylight over ruined coastlines and overgrown megastructures, with the ocean and sky washed to pale turquoise and the sun hard enough to flatten the detail of crumbling concrete. Interiors shift to cooler blue and violet, lit by holographic signage and the glow of Xion's clean, sterile towers. Combat is fast and kinetic, a frantic dance of parries, dodges and flashy finishers, with synth-heavy electronic tracks swelling under every boss encounter and quieter ambient pads drifting through the empty wastes. The vibe is sleek, sun-bleached melancholy with a streak of adrenaline, best for an evening of focused play when you want spectacle and a sense of lonely scale. Expect frequent, stylised violence against grotesque creatures, with blood and gore that land as bold and cartoonishly heightened rather than grim. Suggestive costume design and flirtatious dialogue appear throughout, and a British-accented cast delivers a dry, lightly sardonic tone. Pacing is brisk and boss-driven, with side quests offering quieter human moments. For players who want a stylish, high-intensity action RPG with a streak of wry humour and branching outcomes.
