Warm, painterly 2D sprite art sits on hand-drawn backdrops of castles, forests and sea towns, with the camera mostly fixed at a comfortable overhead angle and the world rendered in soft, slightly storybook colour. Battles and character portraits bring a sharper, more expressive style, and the score moves between lilting melodies and martial drums, the kind of music that lingers after the console is switched off.
