The story

Oscar and Hedgehog are dropped off at a strange summer camp, full of fantastical things ranging from magical camp counselors to sticky notes that are portals to other dimensions.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated, hand-drawn animation with soft outlines and flat pastel fills: sunny greens, candy pinks and cool lagoon blues, with squiggly wobbling edges that make even the ordinary feel slightly alive. Scenes sit in gentle daylight and dusk, with lantern glow and a sleepy twilight over the woods, and the camera stays simple and frontal, letting the strange details of a summer island unfold in bold, readable shapes. Sound is light and tinkly, with ukulele-like plucks, soft chimes and bouncy incidental music that keeps a loose, playful pulse. The vibe is sweet, goofy and dreamy, the kind of warm, low-stakes whimsy that suits a lazy afternoon, a kids' movie night, or a comfort rewatch while doing something with your hands. Pacing is brisk and episodic, with short, self-contained adventures and a friendly, irreverent humour that leans on absurd details rather than jokes that need setup. Emotional beats are gentle: two odd friends, a little homesickness, and the pleasure of finding a place where strange things feel normal. Intensity is very low, with only mild cartoon peril and no gore or real menace. It is made for kids and adults who love surreal, cosy cartoons and want charm over stakes.
