The story
Based on life of Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar who runs the famed Super 30 program for financially weak IIT aspirants in Patna.
What it’s like
Warm, dusty daylight and crowded, sun-bleached streets of Patna, with the small rooms of a family home and a cramped classroom where the light falls through open windows onto worn blackboards and chalk-dusted hands. The palette leans toward ochre, saffron and faded cotton, with brief bursts of colour in festival scenes and crowded markets. Camera work is mostly steady and conversational, lingering on faces during quiet exchanges, while the score moves between tender piano-and-strings passages and bright, rhythmic Hindi songs. Its vibe is earnest and uplifting, with a sincere, hopeful undertow. Pacing is brisk in the lessons and montages and slower in the domestic scenes. Its emotional arc follows a gifted but struggling teacher who pours everything into his students while the financial and social pressures around him press harder. Intensity is mild: there are tense confrontations with rival figures and a few sudden threats, but no graphic violence, gore or sexual content, and the emotional stakes come from hardship and perseverance rather than fear. It suits a Sunday afternoon, a family viewing or a moment that needs encouragement, and it is for viewers who enjoy inspirational, character-driven dramas rooted in a specific place.
