The story
The Addams get tangled up in more wacky adventures and find themselves involved in hilarious run-ins with all sorts of unsuspecting characters.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated 3D animation with a deliberately cartoonish finish: the Addams' gothic mansion glows in chilly blue and violet while road trips unfold in sun-baked oranges, dusty pinks and roadside neon. Camera moves are brisk and graphic, with quick cuts, exaggerated slapstick timing and hand-drawn-style wobbles in the family's movements, and the sound design leans on Mark Mothersbaugh's playful, eerie score, snapping fingers and sudden orchestral stings. The vibe is cheerfully macabre and warm, the kind of gentle absurdity that suits a Saturday afternoon, a family movie night or a lighthearted watch while half-distracted. Pacing is busy and episodic, with one gag after another, and the emotional register stays light: a family that is weird and loving slowly finds its way back to one another. Intensity is mild: some peril and cartoon mayhem, a few scary-looking creatures and occasional threats, but no real gore, no sexual content and nothing truly frightening. Made for families and anyone who wants goofy, stylish comedy with a dark-humour wink.
