The story

A woman finds herself trapped in a virtual circus where she and five other humans are subject to the whims of a wacky AI ringmaster. In this digital purgatory they must face frightening NPCs and cope with their own personal traumas.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated 3D animation that looks like a glossy, slightly warped cartoon circus: candy-striped tents, primary-coloured sets, and characters rendered in a stylised, toy-like CGI that keeps tipping into uncanny rubbery distortion. The palette is loud and hyper-clean, with sudden flashes of dark, glitchy corners and jittery frame breaks that signal the simulation cracking. Sound is a bouncy, big-top carnival score and a manic, chirpy ringmaster voice, cut against silence and distorted tones when the mood sours. Episodes move in fast, jokey bursts with abrupt tonal swerves from slapstick to dread. Vibe: frantic, absurd, sour-sweet, with an undercurrent of despair. It suits a late-night binge when you want something weird and loud, or a comfort-chaos watch with friends. Intensity: frightening creatures, peril and some bloody or violent moments, plus frequent crude humour and psychological distress; not gentle. The emotional arcs follow strangers stripped of their defences, slowly confronting the pain they carried in. Made for viewers who like surreal animated comedy with a melancholy, existential edge and can handle a sudden darkness under the gags.
