The story

A whip-smart doctor comes to the U.S. for a medical treatment to save her ailing son. But when the system fails and pushes her into hiding, she refuses to be beaten down and marginalized. Instead, she becomes a cleaning lady for the mob and starts playing the game by her own rules.

What it’s like

Glossy, high-contrast broadcast drama: hospital corridors under cold fluorescent light give way to the warm amber and red of casino floors, sleek penthouse interiors, and night-lit Los Angeles streets, with tight handheld close-ups during tense exchanges. The score leans on pulsing synth and thriller-style stingers, and the cuts quicken when schemes start to unravel. The vibe is slick, pressured, and wry, a mix of crime-caper swagger and a mother's desperation, best suited to a weeknight binge when you want momentum and a bit of bite. Episodes move briskly, with plot twists arriving on a steady schedule and the lead's fierce resourcefulness carrying the emotional weight. Expect regular violence, shootings and threats, with some blood but little lingering gore, plus fear, cruelty from criminals, and a constant undercurrent of danger. It isn't gentle viewing. It suits people who enjoy crime drama with a sharp, determined female lead and a story about someone refusing to be pushed aside.
