The story

As a cultivation genius who has achieved a new realm every two years since he was a year old, Wang Ling is a near-invincible existence with prowess far beyond his control. But now that he’s sixteen, he faces his greatest battle yet – Senior High School. With one challenge after another popping up, his plans for a low-key high school life seem further and further away…

What it’s like

Bright, saturated flat colour with clean hand-drawn linework, the kind of animation that lets a classroom sit in cheerful daylight and a battle erupt across a sky in glowing bursts of qi. Its world mixes ordinary school corridors, lunch tables and sports fields with xianxia palaces, flying swords and ink-wash mountain backdrops, so a single scene can shift from chalkboard jokes to a sweeping fantasy vista. Sound leans on bouncy comedic beats, exaggerated sound effects for every power surge, and a playful orchestral score that dips into grander swells when the action rises. The vibe is breezy and self-mocking, with running gags that land quickly and an underlying warmth toward its cast of awkward, overpowered teens. Pacing is brisk, episodes built around one escalating problem at a time, and the emotional register stays light even when stakes climb. The violence is stylised and cartoonish, with lots of flashy combat and comic knockouts but no real gore, and the tone never turns genuinely cruel. It suits a lazy weekend binge, a comfort rewatch, or background viewing while doing something else, and it is for viewers who enjoy genre parody, goofy protagonists and colourful animated spectacle.
