The story

Andy Sachs returns to Runway as Miranda Priestly navigates a new media landscape and Runway's position within. The duo reconnect with former assistant Emily Charlton, now the head of a luxury brand that possesses funding which could ensure Runway's survival.

What it’s like

Polished Manhattan interiors in glassy, daylight-bright offices and sleek editorial studios, with the shimmer of couture fabric and runway lighting providing most of the colour. The mood is brisk and glossy, with quick, witty dialogue carrying the scenes and a sense of a city that never slows down. Expect a dramedy with a light, sharp touch: funny exchanges and polished stylishness, with some tension around careers, loyalty and who holds power in a changing industry. Its people move through arcs of reckoning and reconnection rather than dramatic turns, and the emotional register stays warm even when the pressure rises. Intensity is low. There is no violence or gore, little fear, and sexual content is minimal. Sharp put-downs and workplace cruelty appear but are played for wit more than harm. It suits a relaxed evening, a fashion-minded comfort watch, or company for anyone who enjoys witty, stylish office comedy with a slightly bittersweet undertow, for people who want sparkle without menace.
