The story
After starting their own detective agency, Nick and Audrey Spitz land a career-making case when their billionaire pal is kidnapped from his wedding.
What it’s like
Bright, glossy studio comedy with the sun-warmed polish of a streaming-era caper: wide establishing shots of Manhattan skylines and Parisian boulevards, sunlit hotel suites, a wedding venue full of pastel flowers and gleaming tuxedos, and fast cuts between chase set-pieces and reaction close-ups. Digital and clean, with a bouncy, slightly over-busy score that keeps things moving. The vibe is breezy, silly and easygoing, the kind of thing to put on for a lazy weekend afternoon, a long-haul flight, or background while folding laundry. Pacing is brisk and jokey, with physical slapstick and running banter between a bickering married couple who slowly rediscover their partnership under pressure. The emotional register stays light and affectionate; the arc is a mismatched pair learning to trust each other again. Intensity is mild: some action-movie peril, a few scuffles and explosions, brief gunplay, and crude jokes and innuendo, but no gore and little real threat. Made for people who want undemanding, good-humored escapism with famous faces and a little globe-trotting.
