The story
Two Vatican officials with very different conceptions of what faith is are sent to different parts of the world to investigate and verify the veracity of alleged miracles and healings attributed to members of the church.
What it’s like
Measured, talk-driven drama with the unhurried pace of a slow-burn mystery. Expect interiors of churches, hotel rooms and provincial offices, where conversation and quiet glances do most of the work, and an investigative tension that builds in steady, low-key increments. The mood is contemplative and a little melancholy, with a skeptical, questioning undertone about faith, doubt and what counts as proof. The mystery unfolds through people who disagree with each other, so it feels more like watching a debate between two patient minds than a chase. Intensity stays low: there is little overt violence or gore, and any tension comes from uncertainty and moral pressure rather than shock. It suits a quiet evening, a thoughtful weekend binge, or a viewer who likes character-led stories that linger on belief, skepticism and the ethics of investigation. It is for people who enjoy conversational drama with a sense of place and a lingering, questioning atmosphere.
