The story

When the intimidating Rintaro meets the open-minded Kaoruko, the unlikely duo grows closer. The issue? Their neighboring high schools hate each other.

What it’s like

Bright, clean animation with saturated school colors, sunlit corridors, and expressive, exaggerated faces that shift quickly into comic reaction shots. Daytime palettes dominate, with pale blue skies, green school grounds, and soft pastel warmth in the quieter romantic beats, and the frame stays busy and lively rather than still. The score leans on bouncy, upbeat themes that swell during sweet moments, with plenty of playful sound effects for the slapstick. Rival-school tussles appear regularly, played for laughs with bruised egos rather than real harm, and the romance is shy, earnest, and gently teasing, with no sexual content. Pacing is brisk, episodes move from one awkward encounter to the next, and the emotional register stays light and affectionate, following two very different teenagers slowly learning to trust each other across a rivalry. It suits an easygoing evening, a comfort watch, or a cheerful background show, and it is for viewers who want warm, funny, romantic school comedy with mild, cartoonish conflict and nothing graphic.
