The story

A Hong Kong detective suffers a fatal accident involving a mysterious medallion and is transformed into an immortal warrior with superhuman powers.

What it’s like

Bright, glossy studio-era digital imagery with saturated primary colours: crisp Bangkok and Hong Kong night streets under sodium lamps and neon signs, a lot of clean, evenly lit interiors, and fast, kinetic camera work during the fight sequences, with quick cuts and wide shots that let the choreography breathe. The sound is big and busy, a bombastic orchestral score layered with whooshing action effects and rapid-fire comic beats. Vibe: lively, slapstick-tinged action adventure with a light, boisterous energy. It suits a Friday night with friends, a playful weekend watch, or background entertainment when you want something loud and fun rather than quiet. The tone stays breezy and self-aware, with a buddy-cop rhythm, a fish-out-of-water comedy streak, and a hero who moves from wisecracking outsider to reluctant protector. Violence is frequent and cartoonishly staged: martial arts brawls, gunfights, and vehicle chases, with bruising but bloodless impact and no gore. Sexual content is minimal and fear is mild. It is for people who want high-energy martial arts spectacle with plenty of humour and a fantasy twist.
