The story
A deadly female assassin comes out of hiding to protect the daughter that she gave up years before, while on the run from dangerous men.
What it’s like
Cold, muted colour and grey winter daylight give this action thriller a hard, weathered look, with snowbound roads, dim motel rooms and sodium-lit interiors that feel lived-in rather than glossy. The camera stays close and mobile during fights and chases, so the action reads as physical and tiring, and the score leans on low pulsing synths and sudden silences that tighten the tension between set pieces. Its vibe is taut, wary and emotionally raw, with a steady undertow of guilt and protectiveness. It suits a late evening when you want momentum and don't mind your nerves being worked. The violence is frequent and fairly brutal: gunfire, close-quarters fighting and blood, with some sharp, bleak moments and strong language. Danger to a child runs through much of it, so it is not gentle. The people at its centre are a hardened woman slowly reconnecting with the daughter she left, a bond built through fear and grudging trust. It is for viewers who want an intense, character-driven action film with a maternal core and little interest in lightness.
