The story

Andy and her team of immortal warriors fight with renewed purpose as they face a powerful new foe threatening their mission to protect humanity.

What it’s like

Dim, moody night exteriors give way to clean, cool interiors in this sequel, with saturated blues and steel greys under overcast daylight and the occasional flash of practical-looking firelight. The camera stays close and handheld in the fight scenes, so the impacts feel physical and cramped rather than choreographed for distance, while quieter scenes settle into steadier framing and longer holds on faces. The score is driven by low synth pulses and taut string tension that swell during combat and drop out for intimate moments, leaving room for ambient city hum. Its vibe is brooding and weary, with a grounded seriousness that softens into tenderness between its characters. Violence is frequent and bloody, with stabbings, gunfire and close-quarters brawling, and some body horror in the depiction of wounds and healing; sexual content is present but not explicit. The emotional register is earnest and melancholy, with the tiredness of long lives giving way to a found-family warmth. The arcs follow immortals who have seen too much learning to trust one another again. It suits viewers who want action with emotional weight, and who are comfortable with graphic violence.
