The story

Talon, the lone survivor of a race called the Blackbloods, sets off to the edge of civilisation to track her family's killers. On her journey she discovers she has supernatural powers which she must learn to harness in order to achieve her goals.

What it’s like

Wide, sun-washed outdoor frames and open landscapes give this fantasy series a sense of frontier distance, with the camera following a lone figure across terrain that feels far from any settled place. Its sound leans on martial clatter, wind and the swell of a fantasy score, and its magic arrives as bursts of power rather than slow ambient mystery. The vibe is earnest, adventurous and a little rough-edged, a sword-and-sorcery road trip with grief running underneath it. It suits a weekend afternoon or an easy evening stretch when you want momentum and a clear sense of purpose more than atmosphere. The pacing is brisk, with episodes built around travel, encounters and the slow discovery of abilities, and the emotional arc follows a young woman moving from loss toward resolve and self-possession. Violence is present throughout: sword fights, bloodshed in combat, and the threat of death, though it stays on the side of action-adventure rather than graphic horror, and there is no sexual content of note. It is for viewers who enjoy fantasy quests, rebellion against hostile powers, and heroines who learn to wield their strength.
