The story

The story of a world-famous televangelist family with a history of deviance, greed and, yes, charitable work, all in the name of Jesus.

What it’s like

Bright, flat daylight and saturated Southern color: gleaming megachurch stages lit in hot white and gold, sweaty suburban backyards, big-hair studio glamour, and the dim, wood-paneled quiet of a family office where the deals get made. The camera is mostly handheld and mockumentary-adjacent, cutting between sweeping stage wides and close, awkward two-shots that let the bickering breathe, and the score leans on swelling gospel-tinged strings and cheesy synth stings that undercut every solemn moment. The rhythm is brisk, with long comic set-ups followed by sudden tonal swerves into real grief. Its vibe is irreverent and warmly chaotic, a loud, sun-baked satire you can laugh at while still feeling for its bruised, scheming family, whose members slowly and reluctantly learn that love and self-interest are tangled together. Violence and crude language appear regularly, with comic bloodshed and occasional brutal moments, plus frequent sexual humor and drug use, but it never reads as horror. It suits a lazy weekend binge, a comfort watch with friends, or anyone who enjoys a raunchy, cringe-laced family satire about faith, power, and money.
