The story

The Sims 2 for Nintendo Game Boy Advance takes place in Strangetown. In it, players create Sims to star in a TV series called 'Strangetown'. The player's Sim then stars in 12 episodes of the series. In between episodes, the Sim plays mini games and socializes with other Sims.

What it’s like

Bright, chunky handheld sprites on a small screen, with the cheerful, slightly off-kilter look of a suburban town where everything is a little too tidy. The palette leans on saturated daytime greens, pastel houses and warm interiors, and the sound is light, bouncy chiptune loops that loop softly under the menus and mini games. Its vibe is playful and low-stakes, with a gentle sitcom-like absurdity that suits a commute, a lazy afternoon on the couch, or a short session before bed. The rhythm is episodic: a run of short scenes that feels like a TV season, then a breather of small games and easy socializing between episodes. Emotionally it stays light and affectionate, following a cast of quirky neighbours as they stumble into little comedic situations and small wins. Intensity is minimal: no violence, no gore, nothing frightening, only mild mischief and silly mishaps. It is for players who want a cosy, undemanding world to dip into, and fans of the Sims who like a gentler, more episodic take on the series.
