The story
A tropical singles retreat takes a terrifying turn when guests realize a poisonous shark is infesting the surrounding water. Not only will it rip apart its victims, but it also uses projectile acid to hunt - in and out of the water.
What it’s like
Sun-bright tropical resort daytime, with the sea and pool as the main visual territory, and a summer-holiday mood that turns from playful to panicked. Its vibe is trashy creature-feature fun: a silly, self-aware horror comedy where a mutant shark's splashy attacks and acid spray arrive on a singles retreat full of flirting and poolside gatherings. The intensity is high for the genre. Violence is frequent and graphic, with victims torn apart and acid burns, though it's played for shock and absurdity rather than sustained dread. Pacing is brisk and escalating, built around set-piece attacks that break up the romantic chatter, and the tone is loud and lightly ironic, with the camp of its premise doing most of the emotional work. Ensemble characters mostly move from carefree to scrambling to survive. This suits viewers who want a goofy monster movie for a movie night with friends, or anyone after a gory beach-set horror comedy they can enjoy without taking it seriously. It is not gentle, and it is not for anyone who wants restrained suspense.
