The story

Follow the booze-fueled misadventures of three longtime pals and petty serial criminals who run scams from their Nova Scotia trailer park.

What it’s like

Handheld, jittery mockumentary framing gives the show a loose, documentary-style grit: characters talk straight to the camera, zooms snap in on a sly grin, and the picture has the flat, slightly washed-out look of cheap video, all dusty driveways, overcast Nova Scotia skies, and cluttered single-wide interiors lit by yellow lamps and TV glow. Sound leans on twangy country and rock needle-drops, bursts of bleeped-out swearing, and the chatter of a park that never quite goes quiet. The vibe is scruffy, affectionate and anarchic, a warm-hearted hangout with a crooked grin, best for a loud Friday night, a group watch, or a lazy comfort rewatch with a beer. Pacing is brisk and episodic, with scheme-of-the-week chaos that circles back to the same loyal friendships, so the emotional register is cheerful and irreverent with genuine sweetness underneath. Expect plenty of drinking, drug use, profanity, crude sexual humour and slapstick violence, usually comic and cartoonish rather than graphic, though some scenes are rough enough to sting. It suits adults who enjoy irreverent sitcoms, mockumentary style and working-class underdog stories, and is not a fit for anyone wanting something gentle or wholesome.
